Last month, Honor unveiled the Honor 300 series of smartphones in China. Reports have claimed that the brand is gearing up to unveil a new Honor GT series phone this month in the home market. Today, the brand released the first teaser of the phone, revealing its design. Here’s a look at what’s known about the upcoming GT-series phone.
Today, Honor released the above teaser to hint at the design of the forthcoming Honor GT phone. The image reveals that the device features a rectangle-shaped camera module with the “GT” logo imprinted at the bottom-right corner.
The “GT” branding suggests that it will be a performance-focused smartphone. According to rumors, it will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and support 100W fast charging. It is also expected to feature a flat OLED panel.
The inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset suggests that it will compete with the likes of the Redmi K80 and the iQOO Neo 10, which are also powered by the same chip. The recently unveiled Honor 300 Pro and 300 Ultra are also equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. While the Pro model has a 50-megapixel (main) + 50-megapixel (telephoto) + 12-megapixel (ultra-wide) triple camera setup, the Ultra edition features a 50-megapixel (main) + 50-megapixel (periscope telephoto) + 12-megapixel (ultra-wide) triple camera unit.
Considering that the Honor GT will be a performance-oriented offering, photography is unlikely to be its major strength. However, to ensure a comprehensive user experience and to stay competitive in the market, the brand might consider offering an impressive primary camera. Honor is expected to unveil more details about the new GT later this week.
